4 1/2” Segunda Uxeter Kimberwick Bit Segunda Bit Kimberwicke Bit
Stainless Steel
4 1/2” ported mouthpiece with 4” cheeks, 1 1/2” port, & comes with curb chain hooks but no chain. The mouthpiece measures 4 1/2" inside bulb to inside bulb or 4 3/4” inside cheeks. The Segunda mouth creates slight tongue pressure and offers tongue relief when the horse bends at the poll. This encourages the horse to break at the poll and helps lighten the front end. The Kimberwick style cheeks help the bit function as both a direct action and leverage bit when using a curb chain or curb strap & offers 2 areas for rein placement. Brand unknown. Need a curb chain? Sticker on mouthpiece says Allergy Free, Korsteel Klasse. Since it is a golden color throughout entire bit, this may be Aurigan, which is supposed to cause horse to salivate more, thus keeping his mouth moist & relaxed. This is new & came tagged as a 5” bit, but it only measures a tight 5” from inside cheek to inside cheek, which doesn't take into account the bumps at side of mouthpiece, so we prefer to sell this as a 4 3/4”.
