Leather is nice & supple, & feels like a Weaver or Tory leather, but 1 cheek is slightly different than the other. Only flaw we can find is it looks like the buckle cut the top layer of leather around 1 hole(see photo) but is not unsafe to use as it is as it is only a surface layer. Vintage Billy Royal? Scalloped Cheek Western Headstall with Large Silver Conchos Mexico Silver Trim Sliding One Ear Western Show Headstall Arabian Western Bridle Dark Oil Horse Billy Royal? Schneiders Sliding one ear style western headstall with scalloped cheeks with large round rope edged silver conchos, silver trim, round rolled leather ear piece, & has 5/8" conchos at bit ends. Leather is 3/4" doubled & stitched with rubbed & darkened edges. Headstall adjusts on top of crown piece with 4 factory punched holes. Looks like this was either cut down or had repairs made, but they were well done & you have to look for them to find. Measures approx 42” at largest & 40" at smallest so should fit Arabian to Horse. Silver conchos are marked Mexico on back. A lovely vintage headstall. Brand unknown, possibly Billy Royal. Leather is supple with only minor wear around adjustment holes & silver has some greening, mainly at bit ends, but overall silver needs a good cleaning. Western Headstall Silver Trim Pieces Browband Western Bridle Horseshoe Buckles L Horse Derby Originals? Doubled & stitched 5/8" leather browband style western headstall that adjusts on both sides with horseshoe shaped buckles, silver keepers & tips, etched oval silver trim piece with raised rope edging in center of browband & engraved or etched square silver trim pieces on cheeks & brow. Type of silver is unknown as nothing is marked & squarish pieces have metal nail on back which is the only thing that reacts to a magnet, but this is not the good stuff & not the cheapest stuff so somewhere in between. Headstall measures 43" on center hole with 5 factory punched holes on each side & several more punched to make smaller. Browband measures 15". No throatlatch. Age nor brand in known, Derby Originals used to use the horseshoe buckles, so this may be one of their older pieces. Mismatched silver conchos at bit ends(see photo). Leather is supple with some wear marks around holes from buckles. Would look nice on a large headed gaited breed, such as TWH.
